Vedanta plans to trim crude oil production cost in Rajasthan
Cost likely to decline to $10-13 a barrel from $16.5 at present

Vedanta Oil & Gas is targeting to bring down the cost of producing crude from its Rajasthan operations to $10-13 a barrel from $16.5 at present, as the compant steps up spending on mature fields and seeks to extract more oil from existing wells. “Our target is to reduce the cost from the current $16.5 a barrel to $10-13 a barrel, which will increase our profitability,” said Jim Johnny Gast, interim chief executive officer and whole time director of Vedanta Oil & Gas.
