Yes Bank Q2 preview: Will strong profit, NII growth offer relief for investors amid AT-1 bond saga?
Yes Bank is expected to post a 48% YoY jump in Q2 net profit to Rs 969 crore, driven by robust loan growth and higher NII. However, investor focus remains on the Supreme Court ruling invalidating its Rs 8,415 crore AT-1 bond write-off, which has pressured the stock.

Yes Bank is expected to report a 48% year-on-year (YoY) rise in net profit for the September quarter, supported by healthy loan growth and higher interest income, according to an average of estimates from six brokerages. The earnings, due on Saturday, come against the backdrop of a Supreme Court ruling that declared the lender's Rs 8,415 crore AT-1 bond write-off illegal, triggering a sharp sell-off in its shares. The stock has lost nearly a fifth of its value at its lows over the past two trading sessions after the apex court on Thursday upheld a Bombay High Court judgment setting aside the controversial write-off undertaken during Yes Bank's reconstruction in March 2020.The ruling has raised concerns about the potential impact on the bank's capital position and future profitability, overshadowing expectations of an improvement in its core banking performance.According to the average of six brokerage estimates, Yes Bank's net profit is likely to rise 48% YoY to around Rs 969 crore in the July-September quarter, compared with Rs 655 crore in the corresponding period last year.
