Trent Q2 results: Net profit rises 9% to Rs 490 crore, beats estimate

The company's operating EBITDA rose 37 percent to Rs 785 crore as margins expanded to 11.6%  from 10.5% in the same period last year. On October 29, Trent shares closed 1.8% lower at Rs 2,861.7 apiece. The results were announced in the post-market hours. During the quarter, the company opened its 1,000th Zudio Store. "We now operate a significant portfolio of over 1,300 “large-box” fashion stores, with presence across 339 cities (including three in the UAE).

In Q2FY27 we opened 10 Westside and 19 Zudio stores and consolidated two Zudio stores," the company said in its earnings release. As of the quarter ended September 30, 2026, the company's portfolio included 311 Westside, 999 Zudio (including 7 stores in the UAE) and 32 stores across other lifestyle concepts. "As I conclude my tenure as Chairman of Trent, I could not be more delighted at the enormous strides the Company has made in recent years.

During the quarter, emerging categories, including beauty & personal care, innerwear and footwear contributed over 21 percent to the revenue. Westside online together with the proposition on the Tata Neu platform continued to witness traction and grow profitably, the company stated.

In H1FY27, online revenues grew by 20 percent and contributed to over 6 percent of Westside revenues. Its food and grocery business, Star, witnessed revenue growth by over 20 percent during the quarter as the sales mix continued to favour own brands and increasingly delivers a viable economic profile at the store level. The company opened one new store during the quarter to the portfolio taking the overall store count to 87 across 13 cities.

"In our Star business, we continue to apply Trent’s playbook and the contribution of our own brands and products is now trending at over 74 percent of revenues. Star’s recent performance reinforces our confidence in the business model and its growth potential," Chairman Tata said.
