Silver spot prices crash 7% overnight; Indian ETFs fall up to 2.75%
Silver slumped 7% after hot US inflation lifted Fed hike bets, dragging Indian silver ETFs up to 2.75%.

Spot silver fell around 7% overnight on Wednesday as the white metal came under pressure from hotter-than-expected US inflation data. In late Asian trade on Thursday, silver prices fell to $55/oz from $59/oz following the release of strong US consumer price index data. Why spot silver prices crashed overnight ? This increased the bets of a rate hike by the US Federal Reserve. Elevated crude oil prices driven by the geopolitical uncertainties in the Middle East also continue to cap the gains for silver.
