Should you raise your SIP now? Match it to income, not the market, say MFDs
Let your income, not a market dip, decide how much to raise your SIP. A 10% yearly step-up could take a 15-year corpus from Rs 94 lakh to Rs 1.64 crore, at an assumed 12% return

Markets are well off their highs and you have some spare money. Is now the time to raise your SIP? A SIP, or systematic investment plan, is a fixed amount you put into a mutual fund every month, and a "step-up" means raising it by a set percentage, such as 5%, 10% or 20%, every year. Three mutual fund distributors (MFDs) agree that the size of the increase should follow your income, not the market.
