Price Action: Bank of Baroda shares gain 3% post Q2 results; Maruti Suzuki jumps on 21% rise in October sales

Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences share price rose 2 percent after its subsidiary, Saveera Institute of Medical Sciences, operating as KIMS Saveera Hospital in Anantapur, doubled its bed capacity to 500 from 250 beds, strengthening its healthcare presence across the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. Shares of Bank of Baroda share price added 3 percent after the bank reported a 35.8% YoY rise in standalone net profit to Rs 6,531.5 crore, while net interest income increased 9% to Rs 13,026.3 crore.

Operating profit surged 50.9% to Rs 11,430.1 crore, while other income jumped 95.8% to Rs 6,880.7 crore. Gross NPA improved to 1.78% from 1.99% QoQ, while net NPA declined to 0.37% from 0.5%. Maruti Suzuki India share price gained 2 percent after the company reported a 20.9% YoY rise in total sales to 2.67 lakh units in October. Domestic sales increased 19.3% to 2.26 lakh units, while exports surged 59.3% to 49,872 units.

Domestic passenger vehicle sales grew 20.5% to 2.12 lakh units. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles share price rose 3 percent after the company reported a 23% YoY increase in total sales to 75,426 units in October, with domestic sales rising 21% to 73,894 units. Broader markets were trading higher, with the Nifty Midcap index added 1 percent and the Smallcap index advancing 0.9 percent. Sectorally, barring media and private bank, all other indices traded in the green, with energy, consumer durables, infra, auto, oil & gas and PSU Bank indices up 1-4 percent. Market breadth on the BSE remained positive, with 2596 shares advancing, 2596 declining and 189 remaining unchanged.
