NSE exit triggers sharp slowdown in unlisted share trading
Following the National Stock Exchange's recent listing, the unlisted share market has encountered a substantial reduction in trading activity, with brokers reporting nearly a 50% drop in average daily transactions. Despite a rise in interest for companies like API Holdings and PPFAS, none compare to the NSE's allure. Still, investor curiosity persists, hinting at bright possibilities ahead in the market.

Mumbai: Trading activity in the unlisted share market has dropped following the National Stock Exchange of India's (NSE) stock market debut last month. The value of average daily client purchases of unlisted shares has nearly halved across various platforms since the exchange's listing, according to brokers. NSE had accounted for more than half of trading volumes in this unregulated over-the-counter market."NSE made up nearly 50-60% of trading volumes in unlisted markets, so with NSE listing, many expect unlisted activity to slow down sharply," said Umesh Paliwal, co-founder, Unlisted Zone.ET BureauFor over a decade, NSE had been one of the most sought-after names among investors in the unlisted market.
