On a week-on-a-week basis, FII index futures long positions dwindled 6.9%, while their short positions declined by 13%. This can be attributed to October’s monthly contracts expiring last month. Post expiry, longs were boosted by 2.5%, while shorts were increased by 8.6%. More importantly, Friday saw FIIs cutting index future longs by 3.5%, which comes against the run of play, as Nifty had closed the week on a positive note.
