Going forward, the company’s large subscriber base and pricing power position it for growth
Analysts have recommended that investors subscribe to Jio Platforms’ upcoming initial public offering (IPO). The firm's growth ambitions in the telecom business and its expansion plans across broadband, enterprise services and artificial intelligence (AI) segments have drawn bullish calls. Going forward, the company’s large subscriber base and pricing power position it for growth. However, execution, regulation and capital expenditure remain key monitorables.
The key driver of optimism is Jio Platforms' sheer scale. The firm has 533.3 million subscribers as of June 2026 and accounted for around 60% of India’s wireless data traffic. Further, Jio holds India’s largest spectrum bank at 26,800.8 MHz. Brokerages noted that Jio aims to maintain its leadership in digital connectivity through accelerating the migration of 2G users to 4G/5G networks, expanding its home broadband business and monetising its proprietary technology platforms.
"Since its launch in 2016, [Jio Platforms] has reshaped India’s telecom landscape over the past decade through disruptive pricing and differentiated offering," said PhilipCapital. The firm's financial performance has also added to the positive sentiment. From FY16 to FY26, Jio Platform’s revenue grew to Rs 1,46,885 crore and EBITDA to Rs 73,400 crore, translating into a healthy ~50% EBITDA margin.
Beyond mobile connectivity, Jio is scaling home broadband, enterprise technology and AI-led services. The firm is also pushing for the bundling of OTT entertainment, cloud storage, gaming and AI-based services into its telecom plans. Home broadband is a key growth driver, with JioFiber and JioAirFiber positioned to capitalize on India’s low fixed broadband penetration of approximately 21% in FY26, which is projected to reach around 46% by FY31.
As of June 2026, it had 28.6 million fixed broadband customers, including 14.0 million JioAirFiber subscribers. Jio has developed an end-to-end proprietary 5G standalone stack and filed 7,220 patent applications across 4G, 5G, 6G, AI and digital technologies. "Jio’s in-house technology capabilities provide an important competitive advantage by supporting innovation, operational efficiency and greater control over its digital infrastructure," said SMC Global Securities.
The proposed price band of Rs 1,065-1,119 per share implies a post-issue market capitalization of Rs 9.8 lakh crore to Rs 10.3 lakh crore. The offer is expected to raise Rs 28,800-30,200 crore, of which ~Rs 27,500 crore would be utilized towards prepayment of borrowings availed by Reliance Jio Infocomm, with the balance, not exceeding 25% of gross proceeds, earmarked for general corporate purposes.
"In our view, the combination of potential tariff-led earnings growth, organic ARPU expansion and multiple new digital-service revenue streams provides sufficient headroom for earnings to compound, making the IPO valuation attractive on a forward-looking basis," said PhilipCapital. Emkay Global added that the issue was reasonably priced, given Jio Platforms' market leadership, pricing power, growth levers and execution record, adding, "With a proven execution record and cash generation strengthening as the 5G investment cycle winds down."
According to SBICAPS, the issue pricing reflects the firm's scale, earnings growth, technology capabilities and long-term monetisation potential. "The proposed repayment of the borrowings is expected to lower leverage and finance costs, strengthen cash flows and provide financial flexibility for future investments."
