HDFC Bank Q2 Results: Net profit rises 5% YoY to Rs 19,510 crore; NII grows 10%

Net interest margin stood at 3.16% on total assets and 3.32% on interest-earning assets.The lender’s asset quality remained stable in the September quarter as gross non-performing assets (GNPA) at Rs 35,810 crore, marginally lower than Rs 35,846 crore in June. Net non-performing assets (NNPA) declined to Rs 11,851 crore from Rs 12,357 crore in the previous quarter, the bank said.The gross NPA ratio eased to 1.11% from 1.17% in the June quarter, while the net NPA ratio fell to 0.37% from 0.41%.HDFC Bank’s total balance sheet size stood at Rs 45.78 lakh crore as of September 30, 2026, compared with Rs 40.03 lakh crore as of September 30, 2025.Live EventsThe bank’s average deposits grew 16.8% year-on-year to Rs 31.66 lakh crore in the September 2026 quarter, from Rs 27.11 lakh crore in the year-ago quarter.

Sequentially, average deposits increased 5.1% from Rs 30.12 lakh crore in the June 2026 quarter.HDFC Bank’s average current account and savings account (CASA) deposits grew 10.7% year-on-year to Rs 9.71 lakh crore in the September 2026 quarter, compared with Rs 8.77 lakh crore a year earlier. On a sequential basis, average CASA deposits rose 1.5% from Rs 9.57 lakh crore in the June 2026 quarter.For the quarter ended September 2026, the Bank’s average advances under management (including transfers via inter-bank participation certificates, bills rediscounted, and securitisation/assignment) reached Rs 31.87 lakh crore.

This represents a 14.1% year-on-year growth from Rs 27.95 lakh crore in the September 2025 quarter, and a 4.9% quarter-on-quarter growth from Rs 30.39 lakh crore in the June 2026 quarter.(You can now subscribe to our ETMarkets WhatsApp channel)
