Delhi AQI hits 244; GRAP-1 restrictions kick in across NCR
Delhi activates Stage 1 of GRAP following a sharp rise in AQI to 244. Authorities enforce dust mitigation, parking fee hikes, and traffic controls.

Stage 1 of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) has been imposed in Delhi-NCR following a sharp decline in air quality. Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) rose from 179 ('Moderate') on October 20 to 244 ('Poor') by 2:00 PM on October 21, the Central Pollution Control Board said. “The forecast by IMD/IITM has also predicted AQI to remain in the ‘Poor’ category in the coming days,” the CAQM said in its order, according to an Indian Express report.
