The Supreme Court has asked the Centre to submit the new rules to regulate airfares by November 16, reported IANS. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court on Friday that the rules have been finalised and received administrative approval. The government will publish them within two weeks. The court was hearing a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by social activist S. Lakshminarayanan, alleging that private airlines arbitrarily set airfares, leading to sharp variations in ticket prices.
