India’s dairy industry is changing. Consumers are looking beyond liquid milk to value-added products such as paneer, cheese and Greek yogurt. Moving up the value chain through value-added products offers companies higher margins and better profits. India’s value-added dairy market is projected to grow from ₹5.5 lakh crore in FY25 to nearly ₹10 lakh crore by 2030. Meanwhile, the broader dairy market is expected to expand from ₹12 lakh crore in FY26 to ₹19.6 lakh crore by FY31.
